Pick the width for the load. Ten millimetres is right for cuffs, necklines and light casings. A trouser or skirt waistband that has to hold weight wants 25 to 40 mm — narrow elastic under load rolls into a cord inside the casing and digs in, which is uncomfortable and cannot be fixed afterwards.
