Brother's compact metal-chassis mechanical machine. We found it on the UK store only — and it is the model whose reference Amazon appears to share with the continental JX17FE.
The bottom line A compact machine with a real frame — if you are in the UK.
Hands-on testing pending. What follows is verified reference data and
manufacturer specification, marked as such.
What we verified. Searching all six Amazon stores returned this machine on
one: B07B6KL7VZ on amazon.co.uk.
The naming problem, stated plainly. While checking this class we found a
separate Amazon reference that shows as “Brother JX17FE, 17 Nähprogramme” on the
German, French and Italian stores and as “Brother LS14, 14 Manual Stitch” on the
Spanish, UK and US stores. Same reference, same barcode, two different stitch
counts. We could not resolve which machine that listing actually ships, so we
did not publish it — and we mention it here because it is exactly the sort of
thing that makes a reader distrust a review site when they discover it
themselves.
What Brother states. A metal chassis. Beyond that, this listing carries
little, and we have not filled the gaps from neighbouring models.

Questions people actually ask
Is the LS14s the same as the JX17FE?
We do not know, and we are not going to guess. Amazon carries a separate reference that returns 'JX17FE, 17 stitches' in Germany and 'LS14, 14 manual stitches' in the UK and US — the same listing describing two different stitch counts. Until we can resolve that with a second source, we treat them as distinct and only publish the reference we could verify.
Does a metal chassis matter on a small machine?
Yes. It is what stops a light machine walking across the table and losing its timing. A compact machine with a metal frame is a genuinely different object from a compact machine without one, and it is the specification worth paying for at this size.
