The confusion worth heading off. Singer sells both this and the Heavy Duty line, and shoppers routinely conflate them. The listed dimensions and plastic construction here describe a light machine; the 4423 and 4432 are 7 kg metal-framed machines. Same brand, different category.

How does it compare to the Singer Heavy Duty range?

Different machines despite the shared badge. The Heavy Duty models carry a metal internal frame and a listed weight around 7 kg; this one is plastic-bodied and light. For hemming curtains and taking in shirts it is fine. For denim it is not the right tool, and no stitch count changes that.

Is 32 stitches useful?

You will use four of them: straight, zigzag, a stretch stitch and a buttonhole. Stitch count is the specification most oversold at this end of the market.
